Lauren said the inspiration for her Final Collection for LOZ-i, named ‘Rags and Riches’, stemmed from her own ambitious nature. Deriving from her own ambitions, the collection has a feminine cottage aesthetic which relates to her Somerset background. She says “Its all about the driven Hardworking Urban Women who wants to make a name for herself in modern day while still trying to keep her traditional rural DNA at heart.”
The feelings of ambition and postive affirmation are explored through harmonious mood boosting colour detailing and performance detailing for the hardworking commuter. And Hardwork calls for Hardwearing, explored through femininsing classic denimwear. Though she may need performance driven wear she wants to be able to do this while keeping her femininity, which this collection celebrates. This modular aspect of the working women is also explored through pixelated print, specifically pansys, a cherished flower of Laurens childhood.
Lauren says “throughout designing I have always pictured that Euphoric feeling of freedom, being at liberty. And that really has played a key part of my mindset as a designer”
